FANG
Fang is second-in-command of the Flock. He is also fourteen, tall, strong and physically tough – but the most solitary in the group. He fears being helpless and unable to help his friends when they are in trouble. Fang has romantic feelings for Max which she returns, but he gets frustrated when she tries to avoid talking about their relationship.

IGGY
Iggy is fourteen – the third oldest member of the group. He is blind but his other senses are greatly enhanced – and he is the only member of the Flock who can cook! He also has a gift for building and using bombs, which he makes with his best friend, The Gasman.

NUDGE
Eleven-year-old Nudge is the most talkative of the Flock. Her special skills are hacking into computers and she has psychometric powers, which unfortunately can mean that starts to cry when she touches something that has seen great sadness. She’s quite a girly-girl, who cares about her appearance but she’s the Flock’s expert with cars.

THE GASMAN
The Gasman or ‘Gazzy’ is eight years old and the joker of the group. With his best friend Iggy’s help, he uses his abilities to mimic voices and play jokes on the others. He is Angel’s older brother – they are the only members of the Flock who are related by blood.

ANGEL
At six years old, Angel is Gazzy’s little sister and the baby of the Flock – Max is especially protective of her.  She has a mutant dog called Total who goes everywhere with her. Angel is very clever for her age and is a powerful telepath – a gift which comes in very handy to help the Flock when they are fighting.

TOTAL
Total is Angel’s black Cairn Terrier.  Total is no ordinary dog: he can talk. He likes to be treated as just another member of the Flock and gets very offended otherwise! He and Angel are devoted to one anther and she won’t go anywhere without him.

MAXIMUM (MAX) RIDE
Fourteen-year-old Max is the leader of the Flock and the eldest. As well as being able to fly at super speed, she has a Voice inside her head which gives her advice and helps her make decisions. Max is attracted to Fang and although she likes it when he kisses her she doesn’t want to deal with them having a romantic relationship. Max is a dreadful cook – but she LOVES chocolate chip cookies!
